Q: Will flat strips break from repeated bending when used as bow limbs or spring strips?

Our flat strips feature continuous axial fiber arrangement with unbroken fibers along the bending direction. After 1 million fatigue test cycles (bending stress at 50% of ultimate strength), no significant strength degradation was observed. Note, however — fiberglass is an elastic material, not plastic. Allowable bending deformation is typically 3~5 times the diameter/thickness. Exceeding this range may cause permanent damage or fracture. Please avoid violent bending and destructive use beyond limits.

Q: Can the surface be directly painted or film-laminated?

Yes. Standard products have mold release agent removed from the surface, and can be directly sprayed with polyurethane paint, epoxy paint, or laminated with decorative film. For even better adhesion, choose sanded flat strips (roughness Ra ≤ 3.2μm), which significantly enhance paint adhesion.

Q: What weight can be achieved for aerospace or drone applications?

Flat strip density is only about 2.0g/cm³. For example, a 10×3mm cross-section, 1-meter long flat strip weighs only ~60 grams. At equivalent strength, it is ~30% lighter than aluminum alloy and 75% lighter than steel, making it ideal for weight-sensitive applications.

Q: What's the minimum thickness? Is there a thickness tolerance?

Standard flat strips have a minimum thickness of 1.5mm, with thickness tolerance of ±0.05mm (for thickness ≤5mm). Tolerances for greater thicknesses scale proportionally. We offer precision grinding with thickness controlled within ±0.02mm.
